  • Kings' Drew Doughty: No goals in 24 games

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/15/17) Doughty has gone 24 games without a goal.

He still has 14 assists in that span and sits in the NHL's top-20 scorers from the blue line with 38 points (eight goals, 30 assists). Doughty is fourth overall on a relatively low-scoring Kings squad and continues to log heavy minutes every game. He's a steady and effective fantasy blueliner, but his overall offensive contributions will always be below his potential because of the team's defensive approach.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Factors in both goals in loss

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/22/17) Doughty factored in both Kings' goals on Saturday's game against the Islanders. He picked up an assist with the man advantage and scored an even-strength goal in a 4-2 loss.

Doughty is a beast, but he's only on pace for a 44-point season, which is a big step down for a guy who broke the 50-point barrier last year. The drop runs parallel to the Kings poor performance this season and they're in a dogfight to win a wild card.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Does damage on special teams

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/10/17) Doughty scored a power-play goal and registered a shorthanded assist with two shots on net over 29:52 of ice time during Monday's loss to Dallas.

The workhorse defenseman has quieted a cold stretch -- one goal and two points through 10 previous games -- with consecutive multi-point showings and is now up to seven goals, 22 points and 96 shots for the campaign. His solid offensive numbers are supported by dependable peripheral statistics and a huge workload (27:09 of ice entering Monday's game). It all adds up to Doughty continuing to be a second-tier rearguard for your fantasy club and a worthy look in daily contests when Los Angeles draws a favorable matchup.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Posts power-play goal

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/1/17) Doughty recorded a power-play goal in the 3-2 victory over the Sharks on Saturday.

It was his first goal in 11 games and first power-play marker in 12 contests. Doughty is about on track for the same amount of goals as his Norris Trophy season, but he only has 12 assists and a plus-5 rating. He posted 37 assists and a plus-24 rating in 2015-16. Furthermore, he hasn't been as productive on the power play. While he had nine goals and 24 points on the man advantage last season, he has two goals and seven points on the power play through 37 games in 2016-17.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Picks up assist in shootout loss

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/20/16) Doughty registered a power-play assist and five shots on goal during Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to Columbus.

Doughty has been relatively disappointing to date, although the blueliner has started to pick up his play in December. The 27-year-old sits at two goals and four helpers through nine games, giving him a solid chance at surpassing November's total of seven points. With five contests left on the slate before the New Year, the 2008 No. 2 pick will look to build momentum heading into January.
