|(9/26/16) Conacher is eager to prove he deserves a roster spot with the Lightning this season, reports the Tampa Bay Times. He is coming off a 22-goal season (48 games) with Bern in the Swiss League.|
"The fire is in the belly," Conacher said. "This is my last chance, I think. I'm going to try to turn some heads again. Like I did last time." Conacher played in Tampa Bay, but was shipped to Ottawa for Ben Bishop in what is now viewed as a lopsided deal. Teammate Tyler Johnson believes in Conacher, who may get a shot to fill the injured Ryan Callahan's role. "He can help our team," Johnson said. "He's a guy that has a tremendous shot. He's a hard-working player, plays on an edge, with a little bit of grit. We'll see what he can do."
