Arizona vs. Oregon State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Arizona vs. Oregon State football game
After two games on the road, Arizona is heading back home. The Arizona Wildcats and the Oregon State Beavers will face off in a Pac-12 battle at 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Arizona Stadium. Oregon State is favored, but seeing as the odds didn't stop Arizona in their last game, maybe the team has another upset up their sleeve.
You can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Arizona's strategy against Washington State two weeks ago. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Arizona blew Washington State out of the water with a 44-6 final score. Arizona pushed the score to 30-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Washington State had little chance of recovering from.
Arizona can attribute much of their success to Jonah Coleman, who rushed for 70 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 98 receiving yards. Coleman was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 69 yards. Tyler Loop did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and five extra points.
Meanwhile, Oregon State had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they went ahead and made it three two weeks ago. They came out on top against UCLA by a score of 36-24. That's two games straight that Oregon State has won by exactly 12 points.
Oregon State got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was DJ Uiagalelei out in front who threw for 266 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Velling, who picked up 83 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Oregon State's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Calvin Hart Jr. and his two sacks.
Arizona now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Oregon State, their win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-1.
The pair pleased both fans and bettors in their last contests by winning and covering the spread. As for their next game, Oregon State is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by four points. Arizona and Oregon State have both performed well against the spread, with Arizona at 6-1 and Oregon State at 2-1 ATS.
Saturday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. The Wildcats have been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 164.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like the Beavers struggle in that department as they've been even better at 195.1 per game. It's looking like Saturday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
