Quentin signed a minor league deal with the Twins on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
Quentin spent brief stints with the Mariners and Braves organizations early last season before announcing his retirement in May, but he'll return to the game in hopes of cracking the Twins Opening Day roster as a DH option off the bench. The 33-year-old hit just .177 in his last taste of Major League action back in 2014, but he slashed .275/.363/.493 for the Padres just three seasons ago. Quentin is somewhat of a longshot to make the 25-man roster, and he'd likely return to retirement rather than toil in Triple-A, should he fail to make the cut.
