Tiger Woods' iconic clubs from 'Tiger Slam' hit auction, may sell for over $1M
This is the first time in a decade the clubs are for sale

Golf fans can now own an iconic piece of Tiger Woods memorabilia, but it is going to come at a big price. The clubs Woods used when he won the "Tiger Slam" -- holding all four major titles at the same time -- in 2000 and 2001 are up for auction and could sell for over $1 million, CNN reported.
"I do wonder if [the irons] will be the first golf collectible to break the $1 million mark. It's not like there are many people collecting used iron sets, as it's just not feasible, so it's hard to know the market," Golden Age auctioneers founder Ryan Carey said. "These aren't exactly baseball cards."
Here are some details on the clubs themselves, via CNN:
As you might expect from such record-breaking clubs, the items are well used, according to auctioneers, who say a wear mark on the face of the 8 iron is 'otherwordly.'
Meanwhile, the 58 degree wedge is bent to 56 degrees and hand stamped '56*'.
Another unique detail: the wedges are stamped with "TIGER." The clubs are just as historic as the feat Woods pulled off with the "Tiger Slam." Nobody had ever held all four major titles at once until Woods accomplished the feat in 2000-2001.
This is the first time in a decade the clubs are for sale. According to Golden Age Golf Auctions, the 2-PW Titleist Forged irons and two custom Vokey wedges were privately actioned in 2010 and were then displayed in a Houston office complex. The price they sold for in 2010 is not public. Titleist Vice President Steve Mata passed a polygraph test at that time when asked about the validity of the clubs and when they were used.
