Baylor picks up commitment from forward Johnathon Motley
It's not like getting a commitment from Aaron or Andrew Harrison, considered two of the top prospects in high school, but Baylor nabbed its first commitment in the 2013 class, when Johnathon Motley committed to the Bears.
It’s not the five-star prospect Baylor fans have been used to the past few years, but the Bears are officially on the board in 2013.
Johnathan Motley, an AAU teammate of highly-touted recruits Aaron and Andrew Harrison, committed to Baylor late Wednesday night.
“It’s a Christian school, it’s close to home, family-oriented,” Motley told Jim Hicks of RCS Sports, which first broke the news.
Motley is a 6-foot-8 power forward from North Shore (Tex.). He’s long and athletic, and is excellent in transition, where he can finish at the rim. While not completely developed, Motley is strong and can block shots. He also has the ability to knock down open jump shots from the perimeter.
Motley was also hearing from Clemson, Maryland, SMU, Houston, Marquette and others.
