Bri'onte Dunn reportedly hit girlfriend, leading to Ohio State dismissal
A potential starting running back was pushed off the team for a violation of team rules
Ohio State dismissed running back Bri'onte Dunn, who was expected to compete for the starting job in camp, on Monday for a violation of team rules.
The school did not specify the reason for the dismissal, but according to The Columbus Dispatch, Dunn was let go due to an altercation he had with his girlfriend on Sunday night. The woman has not yet pressed charges against Dunn but did file for a civil protection order.
Dunn's girlfriend reportedly told the 911 operator on Sunday that "my boyfriend hit me really bad" and that her lip was bleeding and she had a black eye. A Columbus Fire paramedic was sent to her apartment following the incident.
Dunn graduated from Ohio State in May and was entering his final year of eligibility prior to his dismissal.
With him gone, it looks like the Mike Weber era may be getting started in Columbus, Ohio.
