MAC, Big 12 suspend officiating, replay crews from Central Michigan-Oklahoma St.
The crews will be suspended for two games after the controversial ending

The Mid-American Conference and Big 12 announced two-game suspensions for the officiating crew and replay officials from Saturday's Central Michigan-Oklahoma State game.
The officials awarded Central Michigan one untimed down that should not have been granted following an intentional grounding penalty, which resulted in a crazy Hail Mary and lateral for a touchdown and a Chippewas victory. The officials noted after the game that the untimed down should not have been given to Central Michigan, and the replay officials could have stopped the game to fix the referee's decision but did not.
As a result, the MAC officiating crew and Big 12 replay officials will be both be suspended for two games, as announced by the conferences Sunday. The two-game suspensions for the crews are equal to the penalty given to the ACC officiating crew that botched the ending of last season's Miami-Duke game.
Statement from the MAC:
"After a thorough review and evaluation of the entire Central Michigan at Oklahoma State contest, we have decided to suspend the officiating crew for the next two consecutive weeks."
Statement from the Big 12:
"The crew missed an opportunity to advise the MAC officiating crew of the misapplication of the penalty giving CMU an untimed down that resulted in its game-winning touchdown. NCAA rules permit instant replay to correct egregious errors and it is unacceptable that it did not occur in this situation. Additionally, this replay crew will not be eligible for assignment to an end-of-season bowl game."
