Johnson (elbow) signed a minor league contract with the Padres on Friday, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.
The right-hander will miss the entire 2017 season while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. Johnson has posted a 5.28 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in 22 career starts at the major league level.
