Pirates' Francisco Cervelli: Begins throwing, taking right-handed swings

Cervelli (hand) is throwing and taking swings right-handed without gripping his left hand, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Cervelli has not done any catching as of yet, but he hasn't suffered any setbacks and should still be able to rejoin the club before the end of July. He recently rejoined the team Friday after being placed on the disabled list June 11. Cervelli has been having himself a down year based on his last few campaigns, batting .257/.373/.293 with zero home runs and 21 RBI. In his place Chris Stewart has been filling in as the regular catcher for the Pirates.
