Griffin (oblique) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Monday.
The Rangers called Tanner Scheppers up from the minors to reinforce their bullpen, but since he wasn't on the 40-man roster, the team opted to give him Griffin's roster spot. Griffin isn't expected to resume throwing for a couple more weeks, so this was a fairly easy move for the team to make. However, this does mean that the earliest the right-hander can return is late July in order to fulfill the minimum 60-day stay.
