76ers' JaKarr Sampson: Waived by Philadelphia

Sampson was cut by Philadelphia on Thursday, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo.com reports.

Sampson was cut the afternoon after the trade deadline in order for Philadelphia to make room for newcomer Joel Anthony. Sampson had only logged 11 minutes through five games in February, meaning his absence won't have much of an impact at all on the minutes distribution for the rest of the team. If Sampson clears waivers he may be resigned by Philadelphia.
