Irving recorded eight points (4-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds and two assists across 26 minutes in Monday's 103-74 loss to the Spurs.
Irving was dreadful against the surging Spurs before Cavs' coach Tyronn Lue decided to pull the plug on the All Star point guards night after a season-low 26 minutes of action. Irving's eight points tied his previous season-low and ended his incredible streak of 22 straight games with at least 20 points. It was also the first game all season that he failed to record either a three pointer or a free throw. Better days are surely on the horizon for Irving, who is averaging 27.9 points per game in March, and he remains a must start despite Monday's torpedo of a game.
