Avalanche's Semyon Varlamov: Out with groin injury

Varlamov will miss Wednesday's meeting with the Flyers due to a groin injury, Terry Frei of The Denver Post reports.

Its unclear how long Varlamov might be out of the lineup, but with backup Calvin Pickard struggling of late -- one win in his last four -- Avs fantasy owners may be worried about relying on the young netminder. With Varlamov sidelined, Colorado is expected to call up Spencer Martin from AHL San Antonio.
