Rakell picked up a first-period assist and sent the game to overtime with his late-third-period goal Tuesday in a 3-2 loss to the Rangers.
Rakell had been struggling to register on the scoresheet recently, as he had just a lonely assist in the last six games coming in, so this was a nice slump buster for the young Swede. Lacking anyone else to play with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf, the Ducks have stuck with Rakell in a prime role through good times and bad, and they got paid off Tuesday.
