Jon Jones was arrested on Tuesday morning for violating his probation after the UFC star was given five traffic citations, including one for drag racing, when he was pulled over by Albuquerque Police last Thursday night. The story was first reported by TMZ.

Jones, who is under probation after pleading guilty to a hit-and-run incident from April 2015, turned himself in on Tuesday morning to officers from Albuquerque's Probation and Parole unit and was taken to a detention center, where he remains in custody.

The Albuquerque Police Department released the body camera footage of Jones being cited for drag racing on Monday, where you can see the exchange between Jones and the officer become heated, with Jones calling the officer a "f---ing liar" and a "pig."

Jones went on The MMA Hour radio show with Ariel Helwani on Monday and explained what happened in the incident, claiming he had simply revved his engine at some fans in a car next to him at a red light and was pulled over just past the light and cited for drag racing.

"I definitely wasn't drag racing," Jones told Helwani. "I got emotional and said some things that I probably shouldn't have said to a police officer."

The UFC's star light heavyweight is scheduled to take on Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 for the title that Jones vacated last year after his hit-and-run arrest. The UFC is gathering information on the incident to determine if any action needs to be taken ahead of Jones' pay-per-view fight on April 23.

"UFC is aware that Jon Jones turned himself into the Albuquerque Police Department this morning for a potential probation violation stemming from a traffic stop last week," the UFC said in a statement, via MMAFighting.com. "UFC has been in touch with Jones' legal team and will have no further comment until the organization has had appropriate time to gather necessary information."
