Sergio Garcia is getting married this year. Is anyone aware of this? Garcia is marrying Angel Akins, a former Golf Channel reporter. They have been engaged for a few months now and are getting married later in 2017. 

They have been pretty open about their relationship and love for each other on social media, which makes for great posts like this one. 

Anyway, Garcia was asked after winning the Masters on Sunday if he would wear the green jacket at his wedding. He seemed unsure if he had the go ahead from Akins to do so.

“We were just talking about it,” said Garcia. “This one is a little bit too big. It would be nice, but I don’t know. We’ll get to the point when we get there.”

Then he was asked again Monday on “The Today Show” during his New York media tour, and it seemed more likely. 

“We’ve been talking about it, and it hasn’t been decided yet,” Garcia said. “But it’s a big possibility.”

“I don’t know,” he added in a conversation with Golf Digest. ”Angel and I have to talk about that, but maybe, it’s a possibility.”

As you can tell, Garcia is clearly toying with the idea as his big Texas wedding approaches this summer. European pal Rory McIlroy said he even thought about that as well. McIlroy is getting married in two weeks.

“I’m excited [about the wedding],” said McIlroy. “It’s a great time in my life. It would have been nice to walk down the aisle in a green jacket.”
