The Ryder Cup begins next Friday and while the final captain's pick for the United States is yet to be announced, captain Davis Love III is extremely confident in his team a week before the competition begins.

Love went on "Fairways of Life" with Matt Adams on the Golf Channel to discuss the U.S. Ryder Cup team and said he felt they were arguably the best team ever.

"We don't have to do anything superhuman, we're a great golf team," Love said. "This is the best golf team, maybe, ever assembled."

That's a strong statement from Love and certainly one that will make U.S. golf fans a bit nervous. The U.S. has not taken home the Ryder Cup since 2008. The U.S. team is certainly strong, led by Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed, and the Americans are 4-7 favorites in Vegas to win this year.

Love also noted that he wanted the Americans to be more aggressive this year and play to win rather than playing not to lose. He wants the tone to be set early on Friday and for them to show some fire and passion in their play.

"You need to stand up there, smash it down the middle and take off walking," he said, "and let the other team know we are going to dominate you."

One week from the start of the Ryder Cup and the intensity is already ramping up for what should be a tremendous weekend at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.
