The International Olympic Committee voted Friday to keep golf in the Olympics through 2024, when the Games are slated to be held in either Los Angeles or Paris.

We already knew golf would stay in the Olympics for 2020 in Tokyo, but it was up in the air beyond that. However, the IOC confirmed its intentions this week.

In another decision regarding the Olympic programme, the Executive Board approved the overall composition of the sports programme for the Olympic Games 2024 to include all 28 sports on the programme of the Olympic Games Rio 2016.

In the re-introduction of golf to the Olympics after laying dormant for over 100 years, Justin Rose defeated Henrik Stenson in a thrilling finale in Rio de Janeiro.

The IOC is probably going to award the 2024 Games to Paris later this fall and the 2028 Games to Los Angeles, according to the BBC. Golf in Paris will be held at Le Golf National, and if it is still around in 2028 in Los Angeles, the sport's competition would be held at Riviera Country Club.
