Shorts at the PGA Championship? They're now allowed for practice rounds
We will see the least sun-kissed legs in the sports world at Quail Hollow this year
I honestly don’t know whether this is good or bad news, but the PGA of America has decided to allow golfers to wear shorts for their practice rounds at the PGA Championship this year. This is great for the players (more comfortable) but bad for the fans (these will, in some cases, be some of the least sun-kissed legs you have ever seen).
The PGA Championship is in Charlotte this year in the middle of August, so you can see why the PGA of America made this decision. It will likely be over 100 degrees for most of that week.
PGA's Paul Levy announced today that shorts may be worn during practice rounds of PGA of America member and major championships.

This is a rule the European Tour adopted last year and has been something the golfers on that tour have liked.

I’m all for it. Of course, I’m joking about not wanting to see the legs of golfers which never see the sun. It makes sense that golfers should be comfortable during practice. Also, it led to one of the best Tiger Woods stories I’ve seen in a while.
