Indians win 12th straight game, now one shy of franchise record
The Indians won 13 games in a row in 1942 and 1951
Don't break out the ol' "act like you've been there before" to Indians fans, because most of them haven't. With a 3-0 win over the Braves on Wednesday night in Atlanta, the first-place Indians notched their 12th consecutive victory.

Let's list the winning streaks in franchise history of equal or longer length. Worry not, it won't take long.
13 games; April 18-May 2, 1942
13 games; Aug. 2-Aug. 15, 1951
12 games; July 8-July 21, 1922
That's it. With a win Thursday in Toronto -- no small order, mind you -- the Indians would tie a franchise record in consecutive wins. They are already to the point that no Indians team has won this many games in a row since the Truman administration.
The result in this one was rather predictable, as Danny Salazar continued to make his case as the AL All-Star Game starter. He worked seven scoreless innings while striking out eight without a walk. He's now 10-3 with a 2.22 ERA.
As far as Thursday's game, the pitching matchup is favorable for the Indians. It's Carlos Carrasco (3-2, 2.73) against R.A. Dickey (5-8, 4.23). We know the Blue Jays can be very potent offensively, though, and the Indians can't win every game.
Or can they? It's 12 in a row at this point.
The AL record for consecutive wins is 20, set by the 2002 Oakland A's.
