The Chicago Cubs won the National League pennant on Saturday night, defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers by a 5-0 final.
Afterward, a pair of Cubs were named co-MVPs of the series: left-handed starter Jon Lester and second baseman Javier Baez. It was the second time this has happened, and the first since 1990, when Reds pitchers Rob Dibble and Randy Myers were named co-MVPs following their series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Lester made two starts during the NLCS -- Games 1 and 5. In those starts, he tossed 13 innings, allowed two runs, and struck out seven more batters than he walked.
Baez, meanwhile, hit .318 with an .833 OPS. He made a number of smooth defensive plays, including one early in the stages of Game 6.
