Spotted at Wrigley Field: Actual Doug Dascenzo jersey
OK, it's not actually Doug Dascenzo's jersey, but it's an actual Doug Dascenzo jersey
CHICAGO -- The hotly contested NLCS between the Dodgers and Cubs has all led up to this. This, however, is not the possibly determinative Game 6. This is a sighting, in the wild and at great personal hazard, of an actual Doug Dascenzo jersey (!).
People, we tell stories here, but we do not tell lies:

People, pictured above are Game 6 attendee and gentleman-at-large Kevin Breit and his fashion decisions. People, most especially that is a Doug Dascenzo jersey.
"I just liked him when I was a kid," Breit said of his Dascenzo swag. "He was scrappy and always willing to pitch and that kind of thing."
Indeed, Dascenzo, and outfielder by training and inclination, also registered 5.0 career scoreless innings while performing emergency work on the mound (coincidentally, he also authored five career home runs). That's the No. 29 that Mr. Dascenzo wore from 1988-92 while toiling for the Cubbies of note.
Parting words from Mr. Breit in section 502 on Saturday night? "Go Cubs!"
We take no sides in this space, but "Go Doug Dascenzo!" is something we'll sign on to.
