Reds outfielder Xavier Paul hasn't seen a ton of playing time since Ryan Ludwick came off the disabled list, but that doesn't mean his presence off the bench isn't important. "All the teams I've been on, you end up winning games off your bench. They either stop a losing streak or create or continue a long winning streak," manager Dusty Baker said, per MLB.com. "He probably won't start in [the Reds' next series at] St. Louis, but he'll come off the bench big, I'm sure. He's going to be in the equation. Those 0-for-1's are tough, real tough. Most of the time, when those 0-for-1's come, you're probably facing one of the better pitchers on their team out of the bullpen -- like [Edward] Mujica or somebody like that. Reds outfielder Xavier Paul has been dealing with arm and shoulder soreness that has kept him out of the starting lineup since Friday but could return Wednesday, MLB.com reports. "He'll probably be back hopefully on Wednesday," Reds manager Dusty Baker told MLB.com Monday. "He's able to pinch-hit [Monday]." Paul feels he's been limited at the plate by the injury. "It's something where my arm is pretty sore. My shoulder is sore. My elbow is sore," Paul told MLB.com. "I'm a little constricted throwing. I can't really turn it loose right now.
