Marlins starting pitcher Jacob Turner surrendered two earned runs on six hits and three walks in five innings against the Diamondbacks Monday while striking out five. He remains 1-0 after not factoring into the decision.

Making his fourth start of the year, Turner gave up his first home run of the season while watching his ERA rise to 2.16 in 25 innings. He'll face the Giants in San Francisco Saturday.

Marlins starting pitcher Jacob Turner went seven innings for the second time in three starts Tuesday against the Brewers while tossing his third quality start in a row, in a no-decision against the Brewers.

Turner allowed four runs in the game, but three were earned, as he allowed one run to come around thanks to an early error. He gave up the three earned runs on five hits and two walks, while leaving the game with a 4-3 deficit.

The Marlins would get him off the hook for the loss, leaving Turner unbeaten in three starts this season. Miami won 5-4, while Turner's ERA rose to 1.80. He struck out six and walked two, while throwing 58 of 89 pitches for strikes.

Turner is set to make his next start Monday against the Diamondbacks in Arizona. 

Marlins pitcher Jacob Turner has gotten off to a strong start in the majors this season, but Fantasy owners shouldn't expect that to continue.

Turner is a former prospect, but he hasn't pitched like one in the minors. Turner had a 4.47 ERA through 10 Triple-A starts this season. Those struggles have been due to poor strikeout rates. 

Those issues have carried over to the majors this year, but Turner has also started walking more hitters. His 14.0 percent strikeout rate is dangerously close to his 10.0 percent walk rate through his 13 innings of work.

Through 13 innings in the majors, Turner has a 0.69 ERA. He's struck out seven and walked five over that period. Turner faces the Brewers Tuesday.

Marlins starting pitcher Jacob Turner pitched well during a no decision Wednesday at Philadelphia. Turner kept pace with Phillies starter Cole Hamels, allowing one run on four hits and four walks in six innings.

Turner, who has a 0.69 ERA through two starts, struck out four. The only run the right-hander allowed was on an RBI double in the second inning. Turner has gone at least six innings in each of his two starts since his recall from Triple-A New Orleans.

Turner is expected to pitch again Tuesday against the Brewers.
