| Gutierrez still a ways off : Mariners outfielder Franklin Gutierrez continues to be slowed by the plantar fasciitis in his foot, reports MLB.com. Gutierrez was scheduled to head to extended spring training on Saturday, but manager Eric Wedge said that has now been pushed back. "We just have to see what kind of progress he makes here in the next couple days. We'll talk about it Sunday and see if we need to keep him here a couple more days before he goes to Arizona or if he's ready to go out." (Updated 05/26/2012) |

| Gutierrez will go on a 20-day minor-league rehab assignment once he finishes up in extended spring training, so he is at least a few weeks away from returning.
