Giants' Casey McGehee finding a rhythm at the plate
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com

Giants third baseman Casey McGehee is starting to feel it. The big man struggled early on at the plate, hitting just .169 in April. Manager Bruce Bochy knew the break out performance was coming, according to MLB.com.

"For whatever reason, it'd taken awhile just to settle in, period," McGehee said. "It's all on me. It's not anything anybody else has done or anything like that. Just kind of finding that rhythm of maybe not trying to do too much and being able to finally start to kind of relax. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is not so much focus on our results and just kind of focus on the things you can control."

McGehee went 3 for 4 at the plate Saturday with an RBI, boosting his average to .200 on the year.

"Sometimes you'd like to think you're mentally tough enough for whatever, but sometimes you just need to see something good happen," McGehee said. "It goes a long ways towards helping building confidence."

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Giants executive VP Brian Sabean and advisor Lee Elder have been at the weekend series between the Mets and Nationals, ESPN reported

Giants' third baseman Casey McGehee has struggled this season, and the Mets will have a glut of infielders when David Wright returns from injury, leading to speculation that the Giants may be scouting Daniel Murphy. However Mets officials have denied that the team is in discussions with anyone to trade Murphy.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy sticking with Casey McGehee at third
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com

Giants manager Bruce Bochy knows the struggles of third baseman Casey McGehee. The veteran, who was moved to seventh in the batting order for Friday and Saturday's games, is hitting just .163 with a home run and two RBI in 43 at-bats. Bochy wants McGehee to get his confidence back, reports the Mercury News.

"We've got to get him to back off a little," Bochy said to CSN Bay Area. "Less is more. He's just trying so hard. You guys saw him (Friday night), he's taking it really hard. It's so early and we've got to get him going. He knocked in (76) runs last year. He can hit, and he's going to hit."

Giants 3B McGehee slides to seventh in order Thursday
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com

A serious slump has Giants third baseman Casey McGehee bumped down to the seventh spot in the lineup Thursday for the first time this year.

McGehee has been struggling since slamming a home run and double on April 8. He is 2-for-23 since with no extra-base hits. His slash line of .171/.237/.286 all represent season-lows.
