Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia is swinging a very hot bat right now. Pedroia is currently on a season-high 12-game hitting streak as he enters Tuesday's game in Chicago, MLB.com reports. 

Pedroia's 60 overall base hits are tied for third in all of the majors. Pedroia has gone 22 for 49 (.449) over the 12-game streak with five doubles, a homer and eight RBI. He's only struck out three times over that span.

Pedroia launched a two-run home run in the ninth inning to pad the lead for the Red Sox. He also drove in a run on a fielder's choice and finished 2 for 5 with two runs scored and three RBI in a 5-1 victory.

Pedroia has reached base safely in his last 14 games. He is hitting .446 (25 for 56) with two homers and nine RBI over that span. He has a .343/.432/.442 slash line 172 at-bats.

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia drove in the first run of the game Wednesday in Tampa Bay against starter David Price. Pedroia's third-inning RBI started an eight-run inning that saw Price leave the game injured, halfway through a 9-2 Boston win.

Pedroia finished the contest 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored. He's batting .340 and that has him in the top five in the American League in hitting.

Pedroia has hit in seven straight games and is 15 for 29 (.517) over that stretch with four doubles and four RBI.

Pedroia went 2 for 4 with an RBI as Jacoby Ellsbury scored in the eighth inning on a ball that Pedroia reached base on due to an error. 

The stolen base was his eighth of the season and he's batting .329. Pedroia has recorded multiple-hit games in four straight and five of his last six. He's gone 12 for 24 (.500) over that six-game stretch with four RBI and four runs scored.
