Lakers shut down Brandon Ingram for rest of summer league due to leg cramping
The Lakers are understandably being quite cautious with their youngster
The Los Angeles Lakers are the main attraction pretty much every year at the Las Vegas Summer League, as their fans pack the gyms on UNLV's campus.
Things were no different Friday on the opening night of the 2017 Las Vegas Summer League. The purple and gold clad fans showed up in droves to see Lonzo Ball's Lakers debut. It didn't go so well, as Ball shot just 2-of-15 on the night, finishing with only five points.
One of their talented youngsters who did have a good night -- well, at least most of the way -- was Brandon Ingram. The No. 2 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft dropped 26 points on 9-of-17 shooting, but went down with an injury scare late in the game.
It turned out just to be leg cramps, but the Lakers are not taking any chances with their prized young forward. They announced Saturday that he will be sitting out for the remainder of their summer league games as a precaution.
Brandon Ingram (leg cramping) will not play the remainder of Summer League.

He will likely remain with the team and continue to practice.
This is a bummer for fans, especially those in attendance, but there's absolutely no reason to risk further injury for a few meaningless SL games -- especially with a player as promising as Ingram.
