After missing Game 2 with a left calf sprain, Golden State's Kevin Durant will be held out again for Game 3 on Saturday night against the Blazers in Portland.

Durant injured himself in Game 1 -- the same game in which he scored 32 points and logged 10 rebounds in the Warriors win. But he hasn't played since.

Although Durant was a participant in shootaround on Saturday, the Warriors are playing it safe when it comes to their star player. They held him out of Game 2 after listing him as questionable on Wednesday, and head coach Steve Kerr called a potential move to inject him into the lineup "not worth it" at the time.

With a 2-0 series lead and coming off a 29-point win in Oakland, the Warriors have no real urgency to rush Durant back before he's at full strength. Playing it safe to make sure he's fully healed and ready for action, especially while in control of the current series, seems to be the right move for both Durant and the Warriors long-term title aspirations.
