The Bucks are currently in a very deep search for a new general manager after John Hammond left to become the Magic's new GM. Justin Zanik is acting as interim GM in Milwaukee, and he was considered a favorite by many to land the permanent gig. However, Milwaukee is doing its due diligence and conducting a full search across the league.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the Bucks sent out a flurry of permission requests to talk to Wes Wilcox, Ed Stefanski, Arturas Karnisovas and Pete Dinwiddie. Wilcox and Stefanski are former general managers while the rest are all minor executives that have yet to hold a GM or president job.

The three names that jump out here are Wilcox, Karnisovas and Stefanski. Wilcox was the Hawks GM, until just recently being demoted within the organization, while Karnisovas was a favorite for the Nets GM job before they settled on Sean Marks. There is also a connection between Stefanski and current Bucks coach Jason Kidd.

The Bucks are clearly interviewing everybody they possibly can before picking a candidate, but the range of who they want to talk to is interesting, especially for a job where most assumed that Zanik would simply be promoted in order to keep status quo.

However, it's clear that Milwaukee wants to keep their options open.
