With his frequent high kicks, excessive celebrations and propensity for trash talk, Draymond Green has developed a bit of a unfavorable reputation around the NBA. Green is also the main reason why NBA officials have made it a point of emphasis to focus on groin hits. The Warriors All-Star is well aware that his reputation precedes him, but after picking up two technicals in Golden State's first five games, Green wants some clarification.

Specifically, Green wants to know why he is getting whistled for technical fouls for yelling in excitement.

From ESPN's Marc Spears:

I got two techs this year for yelling, 'Ahhh'?" Green told The Undefeated. "At this point, do I need to wear a mask? Am I allowed to show emotion on the floor? That's who I am. I play with emotion.

"I love this game, so I'm going to show emotion. But if you yell, 'Ahhh,' after a dunk ... I've never seen anyone get a tech for that."

...

"At a certain point, you kind of get a reputation and you're judged off that reputation," Green said. "I think I've gotten a reputation for arguing calls. That's what I got techs for [last season]. I understand that. Now I don't argue calls, so why am I getting techs for yelling?"

...

"I look forward to getting an explanation on the first and the second one," Green said. "You can't yell after a good play? So I'm looking for an explanation for both. I think they both should get rescinded. They said I was disrespecting the referees.

"All right, I'm not talking to them no more. But now you want to give me a tech for yells? It's not like I'm standing in someone's face yelling."

Green makes a valid point. For each technical, Green was yelling in celebration. Like Thursday, Green got whistled for a technical after celebrating Kevin Durant's block on Russell Westbrook. Of course Green could have been saying more than "Ahhh," but if that is really all he said, it's curious why officials believe he was taunting an opponent.

Officials have a lot of freedom when it comes to calling technical fouls. The NBA's rulebook states that, "a technical foul may be assessed to any player on the court or anyone seated on the bench for conduct which, in the opinion of an official, is detrimental to the game." So it's likely Green has two techs because officials believe his conduct was "detrimental to the game."

The league reviews all technical fouls so they could rescind the one Green received against the Thunder. And since each technical foul comes with a fine, Green could also try and talk with the league so it can be rescinded.
