The story of Jeremy Lin going from being on the outside of the NBA looking in to being a whirling dervish on the court to settling in as a solid role player has been incredible. Some people grew tired of the coverage he received and the contract he signed, but if you can remove yourself from that then it's easy to admire what he's accomplished. However, that's not all there is to finding yourself in the NBA.
You have to learn how to fit in to the culture as well as the game on the court. The newest Charlotte Hornets point guard made a video to explain just how you fit in with NBA players and the culture of the league.
The lessons you learn in this video are huge:
- Communication: Learn the slang so you can interact with Wesley Johnson.
- Greetings: Don't forget your special greeting with Landry Fields or Jerome Jordan will make fun of a school you didn't attend.
- Sacrifice: Taking pictures of fans with DeAndre Jordan.
- Fashion: Khakis are a no-no around Tyson Chandler. The tighter the pants the better.
- Dancing: Dwight Howard won't Skype with you if you don't have "chocolate shoulders."
- Music: Stephen Curry will judge your lyrical abilities.
