Bulls' Dwyane Wade: Plans to pick up option
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wade informed the Bulls on Tuesday that he will exercise the $24.27 million player option on his contract for the 2017-18 season, Vincent Goodwill of CSN Chicago reports.

There was some question as to whether or not Wade would pick up the option on his contract with the Bulls' roster in limbo, but at the end of the day he apparently made peace with the fact that he was unlikely to get close to the same money for next season. Expectations for Wade's 2017-18 production will not be entirely clear until the Bulls decide what to do with Jimmy Butler and co., but it will be hard for him to improve upon last year's numbers with his minutes falling and his age climbing.

Bulls' Dwyane Wade: Goes ice-cold in Game 6 defeat
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wade tallied two points (1-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one steal across 19 minutes in Friday's 105-83 loss to the Celtics in Game 6.

After leading the team with 25 points in the Game 5 loss, Wade disappeared in the final defeat of the season. He was abysmal shooting the ball and didn't contribute in any other way, including his leadership and ability to rally a team. The Bulls are sent home after being up 2-0 in the series, which is disappointing for fans and the team alike. It'll be interesting to see how Wade responds in the offseason and next year after exiting on such a low note.

Bulls' Dwyane Wade: Leads team with 26 in Game 5 loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wade scored 26 points (7-18 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 10-10 FT), 11 rebounds, eight assists and one block over 35 minutes in Wednesday's 108-97 Game 5 loss to the Celtics.

Coach Fred Hoiberg essentially had Wade play point guard for the evening despite starting Isaiah Canaan in place of Rajon Rondo (thumb). The game flowed fairly smoothly through Wade for most of the game, until things fell apart in the fourth quarter. Wade let his frustration with the team's collapse boil over and a few choice words to a referee resulted in a technical foul. Despite the negative outcome, Wade recorded a double-double and flirted with a triple-double. Wade's playoff experience is invaluable to the team, and though one should expect strong games like this from the 11 -year vet, his stat line will reduce a bit if Rondo returns in Game 6.

Bulls' Dwyane Wade: Expected to play normal role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wade is not expected to face a minutes restrictions to begin the postseason, Nick Friedell of ESPN reports.

Wade returned from injury to play the final three games of the regular season, but he played just 25, 22 and 22 minutes, respectively, in those contests. With a few days of rest prior to Sunday's Game 1, Wade will return to his normal workload, and coach Fred Hoiberg indicated that the veteran will likely play "a little over 30 minutes."

Bulls' Dwyane Wade: Will play 18-to-22 minutes Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Fred Hoiberg said Wade would play 18-to-22 minutes in Monday's game against the Magic, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.

After missing 11 games with an elbow injury, Wade returned to action during Saturday's loss to the Nets, finishing with 14 points, seven rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes. It sounds like Wade may face a stricter playing time limit Monday, but Hoiberg may end up scrapping those plans if the Bulls aren't able to dispatch the lottery-bound Magic early in the contest.
