Steve Nash: 'I think this is my last season'
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

Lakers guard Steve Nash has struggled through a series of injuries and appears to be just about at the end of his career at the age of 40.

"I think this is my last season," Nash told Sport TV, via the Los Angeles Daily News. "But I still love to play. I love to practice and work on my game. I'm going to spend hopefully many, many years living this life without basketball. It'll be nice to play one more year."

Nash was limited to just 15 games a year ago due to a back injury that also caused nerve problems in his lower body. The Lakers acquired point guard Jeremy Lin this offseason and likely do not expect much from Nash, given his injury issues.

Report: Lakers plan to keep Steve Nash for next season
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

The Lakers plan to keep point guard Steve Nash for the final year of his $9.8 million contract, according to a report from the Los Angeles Daily News. However, the team will plan to add more depth to that position in the offseason.

Nash was limited to only 15 games this season because of ongoing nerve issues. During his exit interviews, he told reporters he is in better shape than he was at this point a year ago. He also plans to be fully healthy in three-to-four weeks, after it took him five months last offseason.

The 40-year-old veteran averaged only 6.8 points, 5.7 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game in 2013-14. He shot 38.3 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from downtown over his 15 appearances.

Steve Nash plans to get healthy in offseason
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

Lakers guard Steve Nash was rarely healthy while appearing in just 15 games this season, but he told reporters in exit interviews Thursday he is in better shape than he was at this point a year ago.

Nash said he could be fully healthy in three-to-four weeks, after it took him five months last offseason. Despite this, he isn't sure if he will be able to maintain his health by the start of training camp. He plans to be at training camp, but will need to evaluate his health before the start of next season, after being extremely limited by ongoing nerve issues.

Nash finished the season averaging 6.8 points and 5.7 assists per game in his 15 appearances, but has maintained he is not planning to retire. He is under contract for one more season, and will be paid $9.7 million next year.

Steve Nash's season likely ends
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

Lakers guard Steve Nash moved into third place all time in assists during Tuesday's game against the Rockets, but the milestone may have come at a cost.

Nash recorded five assists in 13 minutes off the bench to give him 10,336, surpassing Mark Jackson for third all time. He had to play through pain in his hamstring, however, as he suffered a setback in his season-long battle with nerve issues, and he told the team's sideline reporter he thinks he will be unable to play in the team's finale four games.

Nash has played in just 15 games this season, as a result of an injury that dates back to last season. He finished the season averaging 6.8 points and 5.7 assists per game.

Steve Nash hands out seven assists, falls five shy of third on all-time list
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Lakers guard Steve Nash returned to action on Friday, scoring four points on 2 of 3 from the floor in a 107-95 loss to the Mavericks.

In what could have been his last appearance of the season, Nash chipped in with seven assists and one rebound while logging 19 minutes of game action off the bench. He fell five assists shy of reaching third place on the NBA's all-time assists list. Mark Jackson currently sits at third with 10,334 assists.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News, head coach Mike D'Antoni told Nash he's going to keep playing this season, but that remains to be seen with Jordan Farmar nearing a return.
