Video: NFL looking into developmental league

By Ryan Wilson | CBSSports.com

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports that the NFL is looking into a developmental league.

"It's something they studied in the past," La Canfora said on Sunday's The NFL Today, "and it's really come into focus now with the demise of the UFL. There are people within the Competition Committee who believe there could be a 4-6 team bus league that replaces what used to be the World League. You have guys here, in the spring, playing in smaller U.S. cities. Scouts can be there; it's easy to get around.

"This is something that could come before the owners for a vote in the spring at that ownership meeting if they could build a consensus within the Competition Committee on exactly which plan to move forward with."
