Former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is scheduled to have his second murder case return to court in Suffolk County, Mass., this month, according to Pro Football Talk. Hernandez is alleged to have a connection to a double murder involving two men in Boston last year.

The case will be in court May 21 for a status hearing in hopes of setting a trial date. Hernandez will not be in attendance. Hernandez was convicted last month in the murder of Odin Lloyd and is currently serving a life sentence without parole.

A former associate of Hernandez, Oscar Hernandez Jr., no relation, was sentenced to two years in prison Tuesday for transporting firearms across state lines, obstruction of justice and lying to a federal grand jury, according to WPRI.com. One of the guns involved in the case was a .22 caliber gun found near the body of Odin Lloyd, but was not the gun used in the murder.
