Arian Foster signs an incentive-laden one-year deal with the Dolphins
Foster will have a chance to replace former Dolphins RB Lamar Miller, who replaced Foster in Houston
Arian Foster finally found his new home on Monday. Unsigned through the first four months of free agency, the long-time Texans running back latched on with the Dolphins, a team in desperate need of a proven presence in the backfield.
Foster's agent, Mike McCartney, announced the one-year contract on Twitter after NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported the news. McCartney did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
Congrats to @ArianFoster agreeing to a 1 year deal with the @MiamiDolphins

It's an incentive-based deal, according to Fox Sports' Alex Marvez.
Source tells @SiriusXMNFL & @NFLonFOX 1-yr deal @ArianFoster signed w/ @MiamiDolphins is for $1.5M w/ $2M more available through incentives

In seven seasons with Houston, Foster rushed for 6,472 yards, averaged 4.5 yards per carry and scored 68 touchdowns. Injuries, however, limited his production, with his 2015 season getting cut short due to an Achilles tear, which just happened to occur against the Dolphins.
With that injury in mind -- plus the fact that Foster will turn 30 in August -- the Texans cut ties with their all-time leading rusher after the season.
Arian Foster has played 25 of 48 games the past three seasons. 2.6 per rush last year. Games, not names. Never forget

In Foster's place, Houston signed ex-Dolphins RB Lamar Miller. Now, Foster will have his chance to replace Miller in Miami, where he actually scored his first career touchdown.
As it stands, the Dolphins' backfield is comprised of:
So clearly, they don't have much to lose by taking a chance on an established back like Foster. If Foster is healthy, he could end up being the steal of free agency. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, that's one big if.
