Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles is a fan of Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns, the Jaguars' receivers. He likes them so much that, when he was asked if they were the best 1-2 combination in the league, he said yes.

"I'd say they're No. 1," Bortles told NFL Network's NFL HQ. "They're special, man."

Bortles, who admitted to his clear bias, elaborated on that statement.

"A-Rob is obviously the guy that can go downfield, can jump and can make the big play," Bortles said. "And Hurns is Mr. Reliable, doesn't drop a whole lot of balls, is always in the right place at the right time. And they work well together, they feed off of each other, they root for one another. So it's pretty cool to see, to watch them grow and grow with them as an offensive unit."

OK, so clearly the duo is dangerous. Clearly, they're both very talented wide receivers.

Check out their combined stat line from last season:

  • 144 receptions
  • 2,431 receiving yards
  • 24 touchdowns

But do those numbers warrant a position atop the receiver duo leaderboard? Immediately, the receiver duo that popped into my head after I read Bortles' quote was the Jets' Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker.

Here's how they produced last season:

  • 189 receptions
  • 2,529 receiving yards
  • 26 touchdowns

Advantage: Marshall and Decker. But, given the combined age of Hurns and Robinson (46) and that of Marshall and Decker (61), it might not be long until the Jaguars' duo sits atop the leaderboard.

(Of note: The Steelers' Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant would've had something to say in this discussion, but ... Bryant unfortunately won't be playing next season, so there goes that.)
