Brock Osweiler plans to skip out on Broncos' Super Bowl ring ceremony
The Texans quarterback has better things to do than collect his Super Bowl ring
If it wasn't clear before, it is now: Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler wants absolutely nothing to do with his former team.
For the second time in less than a week, the former Broncos quarterback has decided to skip out on one of Denver's Super Bowl celebrations.
First, Osweiler was a no-show during the Broncos' trip to the White House on Monday. The team invited Osweiler, but he decided not to attend because he didn't want to miss a Texans' OTA session that had been previously scheduled for the same day.
The Broncos are holding another Super Bowl celebration this weekend, and again, Osweiler has decided not to participate. A Texans spokesman confirmed to the Houston Chronicle that Osweiler will not attend the Broncos' Super Bowl ring ceremony that's scheduled to be held Sunday at Sports Authority Field in Denver.
Although Osweiler had an excuse for not showing up at the White House -- Houston had an OTA session -- the Texans have nothing scheduled for Sunday, which means if Osweiler's not going, it's because he doesn't want to be there.

The fact that Osweiler won't be attending the ceremony isn't that big of a surprise, and that's mainly because things would probably be especially awkward between him and John Elway. After Osweiler spurned Elway and the Broncos and left for Houston, Elway had some not-so-nice things to say about his former quarterback.
Back in March, Elway basically said that there was no way Denver was going to overpay for a quarterback like Osweiler, and they didn't.
Anyway, you don't have to feel bad for Osweiler: Not only did he get a $72 million contract that includes $37 million in guaranteed money, but he'll be getting a Super Bowl ring, too. The Broncos will just send it in the mail instead of giving it to him in person.
