The New England Patriots weren't the only NFL team keeping a close eye on the Olympics this week -- so were the Chicago Bears.

The Bears had a keen interest in one specific event -- women's trap shooting -- and that's because they happen to have close ties to one of the participants. Corey Cogdell-Unrein, who's a three-time Olympian in women's trap shooting, is married to Bears defensive lineman Mitch Unrein.

The team was so excited about Cogdell-Unrein's appearance at the Olympics that they actually made t-shirts, and those shirts weren't made by Mitch Unrein.

Bears kicker Robbie Gould took it upon himself to get the shirts made. Gould also sent out a congratulatory tweet.

"I was so surprised," Mitch Unrein told ESPN.com. "I came in and they had a big stack of those shirts, and Robbie Gould -- I finally found out because everyone was coming up to me and saying, 'Thanks for the shirt!' It wasn't me! But I wish it was my idea now. It's so cool to have teammates like that that support one another. Robbie, he's a leader on this team, and he made a great choice of doing that. I really think that it brings us closer as a team when you have situations like that."

Cogdell-Unrein was pretty excited about the famous support.

"I was truly touched to see his team, the Chicago Bears, coming together and supporting me personally and on social media," she told USAShooting.com.

Anyway, the support paid off when Cogdell-Unrein competed for a medal on Sunday.

The 29-year-old was in the third place match, which meant if she lost, she would finish in fourth and go home empty-handed. That didn't happen though; Cogdell-Unrein claimed the bronze when she beat Spain's Fatima Galvez in a shootoff, which is basically trap shootings version of overtime.

After the two finished the 15-target round tied at 13, Cogdell-Unrein took home the bronze by winning the one-shot shootoff.

Due to training camp, Mitch Unrein didn't get to watch his wife in person, but he was watching at home.

"It was stressful on Sunday, but it was fun," Mitch said. "Once she actually had the bronze medal sealed up, I could breathe a sigh of relief. She called me and we were just really ecstatic."

For Cogdell-Unrein, it was her second career Olympic medal. The shooter also won a bronze medal in 2008. Cogdell-Unrein finished 11th in 2012.

After winning the medal, Cogdell-Unrein took it with her everywhere she went in Rio. Not only did she get a picture with Al Roker ...

If Jay Cutler's just half as accurate this season as Cogdell-Unrein was during the Olympics, then the Bears should be in good shape this year.
