It took two underwhelming performances by Ezekiel Elliott for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to field questions about Elliott's workload. Specifically, Jones was asked on Tuesday if Elliott's fumbling issue would impact his usage moving forward.

Jones' response? Not at all.

"No. They will not, at all," Jones told 105.3 The Fan, a CBS Sports Radio station, according to the Dallas Morning News. "He's a big man and he carries it properly. He does a good job of finishing, which means he's trying to give the tacklers more than he's getting in terms of how you absorb hits. All of that makes him a sound ball carrier fumbling wise."

During Sunday's win over the Redskins, the Cowboys' rookie running back fumbled twice, losing one.

After Elliott fumbled for a second time late in the game, he didn't receive another carry. Throw in the fact that Alfred Morris scored the game-winning touchdown Sunday and that Elliott is averaging a disappointing 3.3 yards per carry through two games, and there's the cause for alarm.

Still, Jones seems very unconcerned about those fumbles.

"He fundamentally carries the ball really sound," Jones said. "He carries it. He carries it up against him. We won't get into all of that detail, but if you asked the question: Is he very sound in the way he holds the football? He is."

He shouldn't be concerned. According to the Dallas Morning News, Elliott had never fumbled more than once in a game until Sunday. Furthermore, it's way, way too early to panic about Elliott.

With that being said, Elliott has failed to impress after being drafted No. 4 overall in this year's draft. The presumed favorite to win Rookie of the Year, Elliott's gained just 134 yards on the ground and 5 yards through the air in two games.
