Bills coach Rex Ryan would like everyone in Buffalo to know that there's no need to panic over LeSean McCoy's hamstring injury ... yet.

After the team's practice Thursday, Ryan said that he was "hopeful" that his star running back would be ready to go for the team's game Sunday in Miami.

"They're giving him treatment and we're hopeful that he'll play Sunday," Ryan said, via the Bills' official website.

McCoy left practice early Wednesday with a hamstring injury and wasn't healthy enough to practice Thursday.

Anything related to McCoy's hamstring can trigger panic mode in Buffalo because the running back missed 10 games last year with various injuries, including a bad hamstring.

"It wasn't like it was full blown or anything like that," Ryan said of McCoy's hamstring. "But we'll just see."

Although McCoy dealt with a serious hamstring injury in 2015, Ryan doesn't think the Bills running back is going through the same thing this year.

"I know it scares every Buffalo Bill fan because right away we go back to last year and things so hopefully it's not to that extent. I don't believe it is," Ryan said.

Ryan might be "hopeful" that McCoy can go Sunday, but CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora doesn't sound as optimistic. La Canfora reported Thursday that McCoy basically has a "50-50" chance to play Sunday.

If McCoy can't go, you'll want to adjust your fantasy roster accordingly. If McCoy's out, the running back who will pick up most of the carries in Buffalo is Mike Gillislee. Gillislee hasn't played a lot this year, but when he has been on the field, he's been productive. The running back is averaging 6.9 yards per carry on 17 carries.
