Approximately 245 articles have been written about Eddie Lacy's weight over the past year. The Packers running back showed up looking a bit bigger than expected before the 2015 season and never got his weight right, struggling throughout the year, getting benched and then getting blasted after the season by Mike McCarthy.

He spent the offseason doing P90X with founder Tony Horton, tantalizing football fans with the possibility of showing back up in svelte, shredded form and dominating in Green Bay's offense. Well, he's actually back now and, um, no one knows if he's actually skinnier.

For instance, his face looks like he's lost weight compared to last year. Left is against the Cardinals in the playoffs, center is Tuesday at the start of Packers training camp and right is ... the same as the center.

Eddie Lacy is an enigma USA TODAY Sports

Maybe he's just the least photogenic human being on the planet? For what it's worth: I would never judge anyone for their weight and/or their inability to hide a chin in pictures. I'm just trying to figure things out here.

Because you watch a video of him moving and Lacy looks skinnier than he did against the Cards.

He just looks less thick in the midsection and lighter on his feet. Peter King of TheMMQB.com was in Green Bay and agreed the running back has lost weight.

Because here is Lacy, on Tuesday, on the first day of training camp for any NFL team, at an unspecified lighter weight (not the fat slob he was last year), looking very interested. He bolts out of his stance during blocking drills and attacks the defender. He looks good. And the fans on the practice fields next to the Don Hutson Center are so excited. One yells from the bleachers: "We love you, Eddie!" Short memory. Not many loved him last December.

Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports Lacy is "in the 240's" according to a source and Lacy himself said "I look good."

So here is my theory: Lacy is in better shape and remains just not very photogenic. Look at him running at an angle -- left side is against Arizona, right side is training camp.

Lacy before and after USA TODAY Sports

There's just not an obvious difference there. But listen to Lacy talk about it -- he's sick of talking about it by the way, and you can't blame him one bit -- or watch him on video or see him in person and he's clearly lost weight.

The enigma rolls on, apparently in much skinnier fashion.
