LOOK: The Raiders wish their future Vegas mates luck in the NHL expansion draft
The Raiders wrote a note to Las Vegas' first professional team, wishing them good luck
The NHL expansion draft is set to take place Wednesday evening. The Vegas Golden Knights, the newest NHL team and the first professional sports team in Las Vegas, will select 30 players -- one from each of the other 30 teams in the league -- to form their inaugural roster.
While the Golden Knights are the first pro team to call Las Vegas home, football fans know they'll soon be joined by the Raiders, who currently ply their trade in Oakland. Even though the Raiders aren't moving for a few years, the team sent the Knights a quick message ahead of their expansion draft wishing them good luck anyway.
Here it is, via the Golden Knights' official Twitter account:
We received this note this morning from the @RAIDERS. We’re proud to share Las Vegas with them. pic.twitter.com/HpCQNu7nnz

"The Raiders wish the Golden Knights the very best during the NHL expansion draft," the Raiders wrote. "It's an exciting time as we watch the creation of the first ever professional hockey franchise for southern Nevada. In the years ahead, we look forward to celebrating victories, working alongside one another in the community and helping to bring the passion and excitement of professional sports to southern Nevada. Just win!!"
That's a very Al Davis-esque sign-off, appropriate for a note coming from the Raiders.
