The Bennett Brothers -- Martellus Bennett of the Patriots and Michael Bennett of the Seahawks -- are notorious for their willingness to speak out. In the buttoned-up world of the NFL, the duo is the exception to the rule, frequently saying whatever is on their mind and rarely holding back.

Such is the case in a recent ESPN the Magazine story from Mina Kimes, who shadowed the brothers for three days in Los Angeles and got their completely unvarnished thoughts about anything that popped in their minds.

It is a tremendous and very amusing story and you should read the entire thing. Of note for our purposes are their comments about various players in the NFL, including Martellus' old teammate Jay Cutler.

Asked about the polarizing Bears quarterback, Michael called him the "worst quarterback in the NFL" and Martellus was only slightly nicer.

I ask Michael, who's famously critical of the league's overpaid passers, what he thinks of Jay Cutler.

"Worst quarterback in the NFL," he says.

"I'd be open and he'd throw into double coverage," says Martellus, who spent the past three seasons as Cutler's teammate in Chicago.

Given the freedom to get one-liners about an old teammate, Kimes wisely asked the two brothers thoughts on other players. This included Eli Manning:

Martellus: "Eli? He's cool. He's like a normal white guy you see at the park trying to teach his kids how to play soccer and you know he can't really play soccer himself."

As well as Brock Osweiler:

Michael: "I've got more sacks than he's got touchdowns." (This is accurate.)

Martellus: "I've caught more balls than he's completed." (Also accurate.)

And Roger Goodell:

Michael: "A--hole. Nah, I'm just joking -- you can't say that. Overpaid."

And, well, just about anyone you can imagine. They mockingly call Sam Bradford "the greatest quarterback in the NFL" and call J.J. Watt "corny" (but it's OK because "half of the NFL is corny").

Michael describes sacking a superstar quarterback as "like lovemaking" -- "all of the other rushes are like foreplay" until you "finally get to the bedroom" -- while Martellus has a NSFW acronym for the NFL and believes the NFLPA needs to step up its game.

The Cutler thing might hit home the hardest since one of the brothers actually, you know, caught passes and was a teammate of Cutler's. It's also worth noting how Bennett praised Cutler when he was actually with Chicago. It's easier to pass judgment from further away.

But that doesn't make the judgment any less amusing. The entire story is a terrific, fun read and a window into the brains of two of the weirdest, most original dudes in the NFL.
