Barnes was released by the Rams on Thursday, Lindsey Thiry of the LA Times reports.
Operating as the starting center, Barnes didn't miss a single game the past two seasons. His release comes as somewhat of a surprise, as the Rams have little depth at the position. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old Missouri product shouldn't have a problem finding a new home this offseason.
Barnes (foot) is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Barnes missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with the injury, but was able to log a limited session Friday, which was enough for the Rams to sign off on his availability. He'll start at center as he usually does.
Barnes was questionable this week but ultimately will play through his foot aliment on Sunday.
Barnes (foot) will be active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Rams' insider Myles Simmons reports.
Barnes was unable to practice throughout the week due to a foot issue, but it doesn't appear to be serious enough to keep him sidelined for the Rams' Week 11 tilt.
