Former first-rounder Dee Milliner to compete for No. 4 CB spot
by Larry Hartstein |

Jets cornerback Dee Milliner, who's rehabbing from a torn Achilles tendon, will compete for the No. 4 cornerback spot now that the team has added Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie and Buster Skrine in free agency, reports the New York Daily News.

While other teams have inquired about trading for Milliner, the Jets "are content waiting for the third-year player to get healthy to properly evaluate him," the report said. The ninth overall pick in 2013, Milliner has played 16 games over two seasons, recording 62 tackles and three interceptions.

Jets cornerback Dee Milliner might not be ready to join his teammates during offseason activities this spring, coach Todd Bowles said Wednesday at the NFL combine.

Bowles said he receives weekly medical reports on his injured players, including Milliner. And as of now, the prognosis isn't necessarily favorable for the spring.

"It's a little too early to say if he'd be ready for the spring or not," Bowles said, via

Milliner tore his Achilles tendon in an October loss to the Broncos. Selected as the ninth overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft, Milliner is set to enter his third season with the Jets.
