Dunbar finished second on the team in rushing behind Randle with just 16 yards on five carries. He did not see any targets in the passing game.
Tanner finished with two carries for 8 yards in the game on the ground. He had one catch for 17 yards on one target from Tony Romo.
Dallas should get Murray back for Week 9 against Minnesota.
Tanner and Joseph Randle would continue to see more looks with Murray out again. That said, we are unsure just how many touches are in store for Tanner, the expected backup to Randle. While Tanner scored last week, he only had two carries for 1 yard and one catch for 7 more.
Tanner will be facing a team that has allowed the 12th-most Fantasy points per game to opposing running backs this season. That said, Detroit has not allowed a rushing touchdown in the last three games and have allowed just two over the last five weeks.
Regardless of Murray's health for Week 8, Tanner is a low-end Fantasy option for Sunday's game.
Tanner had the team's only rushing touchdown Sunday -- a 1-yard score in the third quarter. It was his second career rushing touchdown and first since 2011.
Tanner finished with two carries for 1 yards and one catch for 7 yards in the 17-3 win. The Cowboys are back in action Week 8 at Detroit.
"We’ll get Dunbar back, and Murray back, and get back to full speed there at running back," Jones said. "But obviously, I think Tanner and Randle, if he can’t go, will do a good job for us."
Randle got most of the work once Murray left the game, but the results weren't great. He rushed for 17 yards on 11 carries, though he had a rushing touchdown. Tanner had just one carry for 2 yards.
"Any time a player comes out of the game and can’t go back in, you’re concerned," Jones said. "We’re playing well with (Murray). There’s a fall-off there, but I also thought it was nice for Randle to get in there and get his feet wet. I think it’s only going to get better for him."
