| Griffin gets franchise tag: The Titans decided to apply the franchise tag on free safety Michael Griffin on Monday, not cornerback Cortland Finnegan. Tennessee now has a window of eight days to negotiate with Finnegan before free agency begins on March 13. | Griffin's numbers were down in 2011 as he totaled 75 tackles with seven passes defensed, two interceptions and a forced fumbles. Nearly all of his non-tackle stats were half of what he had in 2010 and his tackle numbers were down by 33 total. Griffin has the obvious potential to be a No. 1 Fantasy DB but should probably be drafted more like a low-end No. 2 option. Sticking in Tennessee should help. (Updated 03/05/2012). |
